Marriage
A committed Christian marriage and family life, lived in Christ.
Vocation and baptism
Vocation is not limited to priesthood or religious life. Saint John Eudes understood baptism as a call for everyone to holiness and active participation in Christ’s covenant. Each person responds according to their gifts and the needs of the time.
Life is a gift from God; each person offers their way of life back to God. This may take different forms:
The community helps one another discern and live out a vocation. People can seek support from their parish or campus ministry; each person also has a part in helping others discover and pursue their calling.
Saint John Eudes founded an apostolic and fraternal congregation. Its priests make the promises common to priests rather than additional religious vows, and live together in community to sustain their charism and mission. The Church describes this form as a Society of Apostolic Life.
